Bamboo Instead of Cotton For Clothes

With the growing campaign for climate change, support Mother Nature and going green for the environment, major companies from different industries joined hands in the call for a healthier and cleaner environment. Some of the noted actions are recycling on the part of electrical and electronics, especially on e-waste and the support of major industries on clean air and reducing wastes campaign.

And in line with the continuing call for the support of a greener earth, the textile industry now launched an eco-friendly, cost-effective and user-friendly product. Bamboo Textiles Ltd. is proud to launch their newest product – textile made from bamboo fiber. David Hardman, the company’s director, shared his points on launching this new addition in their textiles. He said that bamboo fiber offers a large margin of advantage as compared to cotton because of its durable and superior qualities. Bamboo textile is known as the “breathing fiber” because of its unique characteristics. As compared to cotton, bamboo textile has 30% absorbency, high UV protection, has anti-bacterial components and is also good to those who have skin allergies because the fiber also is very soft. Hardman also said that using fibers from bamboo may be the end of smelly socks because of its natural anti-bacterial agents.

And in connection to the possible demand for this fiber, Hardman has this to say: an acre of bamboo can yield 10 times more compared to that of cotton fields. Also, bamboo is very easy to grow and maintain as it thrives naturally and there is not need for fertilizers. Cotton, on the other hand, need water, fertilizer and maintenance to assure a good harvest. Environmental-wise, bamboo is 100% biodegradable, takes up more carbon dioxide and releases more oxygen than cotton.

With this, Bamboo Textiles Ltd. is proud to introduce its wide selection of bed clothing, like duvet covers, elegant coverings, and pillows and pillowcases. They also offer simple clothing for babies, children and adults. Also, they have an array of household wipes, nappies and towels.

Bamboo as a source of fiber is just one of the many products that entrepreneurs can work with and develop something. Organic candles from bamboo are also making a name in the market. Aside from it, candle holders made from bamboo is also gaining popularity.

Nestle your soy candles in bamboo-made candle holders for a greener effect.
